Peter’s going to be in trouble again over the gulf.
In 1991 when he was the last reporter left in Baghdad he was branded as propagandist for the Iraqis but continued to work for CNN until 1998.

I’m curious to see how this piece about Rumsfeld in the New Yorker plays out. As Brad DeLong points out, Rumsfeld is already trying to shift the responsibility to Gen. Tommy Franks. Rumsfeld made his position clear at his Friday press briefing: “The war plan is Tom Franks’ war plan.” That’s not what we heard last week.
Meanwhile, there are reports of Marines being fed by Iraqi refugees. This could be spun as a greatful population thanking their liberators, but in an atmosphere of suicide bombing and enemy soldiers dressed as civilians, our troops must have been fairly hungry to take food from strangers.
Given the prevailing attitude towards coverage of war protesters, I was suprised to see that Yahoo News is offering a “Full Coverage” category for the Anti-War movement.
Finally, Marines have found the bodies of four American soldiers in a shallow grave near Nasiriyah.

From Rob Brezny’s Website:
This has nothing to do with agreeing or disagreeing with George Bush in regard to the invasion of Iraq. In order to be Spiritual Peacemakers and heal him, we must release our judgments and focus only on the higher good. Bush has the power to effect the lives of so many people, and so we pray that he will find a way to do so with compassion and peace. The intention of this vigil is to break down the walls of fear and increase the love in his heart.
April 1, 11 AM EST, spend fifteen minutes sending George Bush all the love you have in your heart. And tell the whole world.

I didn’t see any “April Fool” at the end so I guess it’s serious. what the hell? send the little guy some juju.

Every now and then, someone sees one of the mouth watering graphics on alienjesus.com and thinks to themselves, “hey, that would make a great image for me to use!” And that’s fine. The internet is the home shoplifting network, and we don’t mind giving back now and then. But if you’re going to lift an image, find someplace else to host it. Just ask German Limp Bizkit fan BiZkit EYeZ. He borrowed a picture of Fred Durst from one of Ed Oateswulf’s older articles and used it as his avatar for some German Limp Bizkit fan board. I imagine he’ll be a bit upset when he finds his avatar image has mutated from

Religion has always been a core component of conflicts in the Middle East, and the current war in Iraq is no exception. When discussing the confluence of religion, politics, and war, the big networks tend to tread lightly. Boring! Some of the most interesting discussion takes place in the so-called “Christian” media. And in Christian media, it doesn’t get much bigger than Pat Robertson’s 700 Club. Here’s my take on the Friday (3/28/03) edition of The 700 Club.
A streaming version of the show is available here.

Will this be our exit strategy in Iraq as well?
” CHAMAN, Pakistan (Reuters) - U.S. aircraft over southern Afghanistan have scattered $100 bills tucked into envelopes bearing a picture of President George W. Bush, witnesses said on Thursday.”
Anyone else seen stories about this? I’d love to know more. Please post in the comments if you know anything about it!
