I’ve posted a two part report from George Knapp on the May 2008 Needles UFO crash on Alien Jesus Theatre. This was good enough to get its own snazzy graphic, and it’s worth sitting through the embedded commercials to see the story!

George Noory’s Sci-Fi Channel show Unexplained has been picked up for five more episodes this November. It’ll be running every night at 11PM November 16th thru 20th. Here’s the official press release and episode guide. Pick of the litter looks to be the UFO show on November 19th with Linda Moulton Howe and Whitley Streiber.

Peter Davenport, director of The National UFO Reporting Center is tired of givin’ it away. According to Davenport, the kids prank calling the NUFORC hotline and the low quality of genuine eyewitnesses “has had a significant, and adverse, effect on my desire to continue running NUFORC in the manner that we have done it in the past.” Then he really lets loose:
I’ve been to 40 countries and I’ve never encountered less common sense that I find in this country. Americans pay king’s ransoms to send their kids to school and all they learn is how to put on cheerleader outfits or football uniforms.
Peter Davenport isn’t getting rich off of NUFORC. He doesn’t even make a Richard Hoagland income off of it. I’d urge everyone to read and follow his instructions before calling up with a report, but I’m not sure if the problem callers are even capable of that. There’s nothing easier than going broke overestimating the intelligence of the average Joe the plumber. Good luck Peter!

Darwin resident Clayton Dwyer woke up one morning this week and exclaimed ‘Dogs ate my car!’ Not the first time this has happened to him either.

At least they didn’t eat his baby.

The Private Life of Genghis Khan
” For a moment a strange green fire seemed to flash from the eyes of the Mongol leader. A heavy deadly kind of a thing that you could hardly call a smile drew itself through his fine wispy beard. The strange kind of smiley thing would signify (briefly) to anyone who was stupid enough to look that there was nothing a Mongol warlord liked better after a day hacking people to bits than a big night out.”

From Godz Monkey:
“I went out for a walk yesterday just after 7pm. The Anaheim PD was already out in force! Harbor is 3 lanes wide in each direction, they had 3 cop cars side by side cruising the boulevard. Not to mention the random cars up and down Orangewood. I guess they were getting their message out that no one should be celebrating their freedom too much!
Very creepy.”
Creepy? No good citizen wants to abuse their freedoms! Sometimes they need the guiding hand of Uncle Big Brother Sam to put them on the straight and narrow.
They are governing for YOU. And you call them creepy?

From the Farmer’s Almanac:
“DOG DAYS BEGIN (JULY 3)
The Dog Days (a period of 40 days beginning July 3 and ending August 11) are named for the Dog Star, Sirius, which is visible with the rising Sun at this time of year. Ancients associated this sky picture with the hot days that coincided with it. Sirius is the brightest star in the constellation Canis Major (Greater Dog).
Dog Days bright and clear,
indicate a happy year.
But when accompanied by rain,
for better times our hopes are in vain.”
