More on the Clark/Rove phone calls
A fine dissection of the story that Wesley Clark would have gone Republican if Karl Rove had returned his phone calls. Enough spin to make your head spin.
Clark a stalking horse for Clinton?
Congressional Quarterly columnist Craig Crawford suggests that Wesley Clark’s campaign is just a front designed to let Hillary Clinton enter the race in November. Under this scenario, she takes over the Clark campaign organization sometime before November 21st (the filing deadline for the New Hampshire primary), and Clark becomes the VP candidate. It would certainly explain a lot.

Excellent flash game lets you take a shot or two at David Blaine.
More on IT moving overseas
Very comprehensive article about IT outsourcing from CIO magazine. Talks about the anti-outsourcing backlash, and the fact that once an IT job moves overseas, it isn’t likely to come back. Might want to pour yourself a drink before you read this one.
Flesh Peddlers’ expo in NYC
Wired News | Bidding Your Job Bon Voyage
It’s a trade show for outsourcing, and it sounds like outsourcing isn’t just for IT anymore. You can replace HR, graphic designers, payroll, even sales!
“All those savings allow companies to retain their work forces, outsourcing company reps said again and again during the debate. Without outsourcing, North American companies would have to fire more workers.”

Another Ruby Ridge may be coming in Michigan
If you haven’t yet heard about Lyle Barkley’s struggles with Charlevoix County and Bay Township, Michigan, you probably will soon enough. He’s fighting a court order to remove some trailers from his property, and has vowed to defend his rights by whatever means necessary. An armed 600 man militia from Denver has agreed to help him defend his property against government authorities, and two Michigan based militias are also planning to join the fray. Barkley’s supporters have set up a blog to keep the public informed. It sounds like this situation could turn ugly in the next few days. If the feds get involved, they’ll have to brand Barkley and his family as terrorists, and I don’t see that charge sticking against a patriotic American who’s just trying to defend his property rights. Whether or not he’s in the wrong legally won’t matter to most people; morally, people are going to feel for this guy if the situation develops into another Waco/Ruby Ridge scenario.
Art Bell returns to radio
Art Bell will be hosting Coast to Coast AM every Saturday and Sunday starting September 20th. Buck is in tears, and I’m going to buy a bottle of Wild Turkey to celebrate as soon as the liquor store opens. I just hope he can handle the schedule. I think this is his third return from retirement (not counting the sabbaticals). If you own a radio, it’s a good time to be alive.
Did HAARP cause the ’03 blackout?
An anonymous research scientist is proposing that the August 14 blackout in the northeast was a test of HAARP’s military applications. No conclusive proof is given, but the idea is quite plausible given the facts.
