Our neighbor, Judy, brought over her Halloween candy for us to hand out tonight. Good stuff. M&Ms, Reeses, Kisses.
Then she called the paramedics for her husband, Bill.
I hope he didn’t have an…accident.
Did he have some of Judy’s candy?
um…should I be handing this out?
And so begins the Halloween Afternoon. I’m a li’l leary now about cutting into the dangerously sized 20 lb pumpkin. Or answering the door at all tonight.
I need the good luck of a black cat crossing my path. Kitties know all about cutting through the hoodoo.
All Hallow’s Eve. The front porch is cleaned for the Witches New Year and final preparations are being made for the goblins in disguise that will come a’knocking. They will for sure get “treat.” The supermarket already has the candy half-priced. It would be an insult to the godz of shameful riches to not grab up many.
Cupcakes, as our long time readers know, are a staple of any Command celebration. We celebrate alot.
Happy Halloween and a pleasantly eventful Dia de los muertes.
A building at Ft. Meade that housed the US Army’s 902nd Military Intelligence Group suffered a six alarm fire on October 21st. What’s interesting about this is the 902nd’s involvement with the “abandoned” Total Information Awareness program, and their work infiltrating subversive domestic groups like the Quakers. Some news photographers on the scene were forced to delete all images they shot of the blaze, but a few pictures have made it to the Internets. There’s also a nice roundup of coverage on Wonkette.
Featuring Ken Lay, Woodrow Wilson, Benito Mussolini, and Henry Ford as the Beaver:
It’s sad and confusing not to live in a democracy, anymore. And while it’s quite plainly true, it’s a bit too unthinkable for most sane people to accept. It goes in the same mental basket as more outlandish (if not unthinkable) thoughts — such as dynamite on the WTC or no airplane crashing into the Pentagon — even though, in this case, it’s not conjecture, it’s just plain real.
So what I’m coming to grips with is accepting that I don’t live in a democratic nation, and that the propaganda state attempted in 1930’s Europe did finally reach fruition here in the U.S., just as Henry Ford and those of his ilk predicted.
Part II of the Halloween Photos. The Holiday Command goes outside.
This neighborhood is in the spirit.
Agent Ackme fixed his stove and made a pie. This is the kind of American spirit the terrorist can never take from us. We salute you, Agent Ackme!

“The South American oil and gas explorer Chaco Resources may well be worth keeping an eye on in the weeks ahead. Recent news from the AIM group has focused on its operations in Colombia, but word has it that an important announcement is on the way regarding its interests in Paraguay.”
No oil found in Paraguay. Yet. But W is buying land there. Ok.
Bush Buys Land in Northern Paraguay – Prensa Latina
“Buenos Aires, Oct 13 (Prensa Latina) An Argentine official regarded the intention of the George W. Bush family to settle on the Acuifero Guarani (Paraguay) as surprising, besides being a bad signal for the governments of the region.
Luis D Elia, undersecretary for the Social Habitat in the Argentine Federal Planning Ministry, issued a memo partially reproduced by digital INFOBAE.com, in which he spoke of the purchase by Bush of a 98,842-acre farm in northern Paraguay, between Brazil and Bolivia.
The news circulated Thursday in non-official sources in Asuncion, Paraguay.
D Elia considered this Bush step counterproductive for the regional power expressed by Presidents Nestor Kirchner, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Evo Morales, Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro.
He said that “it is a bad signal that the Bush family is doing business with natural resources linked to the future of MERCOSUR.”
The official pointed out that this situation could cause a hypothetical conflict of all the armies in the region, and called attention to the Bush family habit of associating business and politics. “
