Cancer, birth defects, flu-like symptoms…don’t get your teflon pans hotter than 554 degrees farenheit. Article does have that investigative journalism “hard-hitting scare the shit out of the public” angle, but there’s something to it.

  1. actually i do not see how that is true since teflon is a non toxic polymer.

  2. Sure, Teflon is a non-toxic polymer at room temperature. But heat it past 500 degrees Farenheit and it starts outgassing with toxic fumes. Teflon is a safe container for burning books, but get it hotter and you’ll poison yourself and anyone else in the vicinity.
