Mad Cow disease in the U.S. is looking more and more inevitable. The beef processing industry doesn’t seem to care about safety if it impacts their bottom line.
“Industry officials say consumer groups are ‘imagining a BSE epidemic.’ ”
But on the bright side, it can take years for the disease to incubate in infected humans, and if it goes to court it’ll be a question of corporate rather than personal liability. Government bailout, liability limits, “move along, nothing to see here folks!”
