  1. The AE engine type is also widely used on European Manufactured Airbus aircrafts. Rolls Royce Engines powers Boeing build aircrafts (pretty much all models) and were, interestingly enough, Boeing’s choice for the JSF(Joint Strike Fighter) Project, which didn’t win. The JSF contract went to “some” other American company.

The Rolls Royce Trent 600 is the sole Power Plant for the Airbus A340-500 and 600. The new Boeing 777-300ER(Extended Range) and the ‘to come’ 777-200LR(Long Range) will be powered exclusively by GE(General Electric Engines).

The Rolls Royce Trent 900 is being offered together with the GP7200 for the new Airbus A380 to debut in 2005/6. At the moment, the GP engine has more orders than the Trent 900.

Enough Aircraft engine talk for one day.
